As a Software Engineer – Azure Storage, you will help build performant scale-out block storage on DPU (Data Processing Units) hardware. You will be involved in all phases of the storage lifecycle, design, implementation, test, deployment, and support. This opportunity will allow you to learn about cloud computing as well as building and supporting cloud services at scale.

Responsibilities

Works with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project lead) to determine user requirements for a set of features. Begins to leverage a variety of feedback channels to incorporate insights into future designs or solution fixes.

Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.

With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.

Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.

Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product features/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.

Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Builds knowledge, shares new ideas, and shares pinpoints of engineering tool gaps to improve the development and maintenance of complex product features and contribute to the success of others

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C OR C++

OR equivalent experience.

Experience developing software related to storage.
Other Requirements

The ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

OR related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, OR C++
